Originally renovated as BSW’s personal weekend retreat, this chalet became a true expression of the studio’s design philosophy — layered, enduring, and quietly refined. The home was renovated from top to bottom, blending English countryside inspiration with practical considerations for relaxed, year-round use.
Key features include an antique English oak centre table, a stone wood-burning fireplace, warm neutral tones, soapstone quartz surfaces, and a thoughtfully planned European-inspired kitchen designed for both function and atmosphere. The renovation also reworked the layout to convert one bathroom into two, significantly improving usability and long-term property value through careful space planning.
Although modest in size with two bedrooms, the guest room was transformed into a queen-over-queen bunk space incorporating vintage ski rails — an intentional solution for hosting friends and families comfortably. Drawing from extensive travel, material exploration, and a curated personal reference library, this project reflects the core BSW approach: homes designed to feel collected, grounded, and built to age beautifully.
